 *SPOILERS AHEAD! BEWARE!*
"Buried" is a movie starring Ryan Reynolds, a Canadian actor, who plays Paul Conroy, an American truck driver contractor working in Iraq during the War On Terror. After his convoy is ambushed/killed by a group of Iraqi insurgents, he comes to only to discover that he has been buried alive, trapped inside of a old-fashioned wooden coffin. The captives left with him a Zippo lighter, a cellular phone, a 5oz flask full of alcohol, a pencil, a flashlight, a glowstick...aaaaand...I think that's all. It is not fully clear (or perhaps I missed this detail) approximately how long he is trapped in the coffin for from start to end, but any viewer who is even slightly claustrophobic should beware: this film will make you extremely antsy, perhaps to the point you may not be able to continue watching beyond the first few minutes.

Paul Conroy remains stuck inside this rickety coffin for the ENTIRE MOVIE. I had been made aware of this fact prior to viewing, so it did not surprise me, but instead actually dulled my intrigue. Half of the fun of watching films is wondering what is about to happen next, how it's going to end, etc...therefore, knowing beforehand takes away a lot of the mystique.

Now, first off, let me get one thing straight: I am not a Ryan Reynolds fan, by any means. I think, for the most part, when he attempts to play funny roles, he ends up coming off like a cheaper Dane Cook (which is disgusting, to say the very least). When he plays serious roles, sometimes he's alright, but for the most part he's just too fake. I don't believe him.

In "Buried", I particularly enjoyed the character of the insurgent/terrorist or whoever - the antagonist, I suppose it is called.
"You make video?" Hahaha. So funny.

This film lacked any depth, poise or character basis; its plot was conceptually interesting, yet stale and empty of definition. As a matter of fact, I would go as far as to say that this movie was downright stupid.
